Reducing Pain & Restoring Function through Medical Massage

I deliver the results you're looking for - pain relief and improved function. I listen, ask questions, and assess to understand your body and your goals.

Do you have muscle soreness, tension, and limited range or ease of motion?

Are you an athlete striving to improve your performance?

Do you have a more complex issue (such as fibromyalgia, low back pain, sciatica, TMJ, knee pain, shoulder pain, headaches, carpal tunnel, etc.)?

I tailor my approach to best meet your individual needs.

If you have pain, numbness, or tingling, relief is always my first priority as these signal serious and typically progressive issues in your tissues.

I use Medical Massage which integrates other clinical approaches (Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release, Post Isometric Relaxation) along with additional techniques that address the central nervous system component of pain/injuries - this is the key to more complete relief.

I also work with people with injuries or before/after surgery to relieve restrictions, enabling you to rehabilitate more quickly and effectively with less pain.

If you are an athlete, are engaged in repetitive movement activities, or have postural issues, I want to make sure that any misalignments are corrected, making you less vulnerable to injury. I also ferret out any restrictions to fine tune your muscles for peak performance.

Medical Massage

Medical Massage as taught by Dr Ross Turchaninov (the father of Medical Massage in the U.S.), is a comprehensive approach to treating specific issues (low back pain, sciatica or piriformis syndrome, knee pain, headaches, shoulder pain or rotator cuff syndrome, carpal or tarsal tunnel, TMJ, illiopsoas syndrome, tennis or golfer's elbow, trapezius syndrome, tibial nerve neuralgia, tendonitis, osteoarthritis, and many other conditions).

Detailed assessment and analysis enables me to work efficiently, utilizing unique techniques which are scientifically proven to be most effective for the issue affecting you. Sessions are focused on the areas experiencing issues as well as other links in the chain that led there, rather than full body.  It is specific and integrated across all levels of tissue along the nerve pathway, addressing root cause. It improves effectiveness with less pressure and discomfort (more gain with less pain).

The areas addressed and the length of each session recommended are determined by the treatment that is needed.

Microcurrent Point Stimulation (MPS)

Microcurrent is a new modality that has numerous applications to improve healing of tissues at a cellular level. It can be used to improve the appearance & internal pulling of scars, relax or tonify muscles, improve nerve signals, relieve pain, reduce inflammation, & reduce cortisol/stress. The Dolphin Neurostim device produces comfortable impulses to trigger/acupuncture points, helping to provide quick & effective relief for a number of conditions (arthritis, back pain/sciatica, bursitis, knee pain, tendonitis, TMJ/TMD, sport injuries, nervous system stress, and long Covid).

Scars and related adhesions often compress nerves, affect muscle function, restrict blood and lymph flow, and upregulate the nervous system. Pulling and pain can be felt across lines of tension from scars to other areas of the body. For example, a recent study reported that 40% of individuals with C-Section scars experienced back pain and 20% reported neck/shoulder pain. Microcurrent treatment has been shown by ultrasound scans to reduce old & new scar tissue. Learn more about scar release here:

The vagal nerve is the longest nerve in the body - it controls the communication between the brain and organs. Using Microcurrent stimulation of the vagal nerve, the stress hormone Cortisol is reduced, heart rate variability is improved, the body switches to the parasympathetic "rest, digest, & heal" system, and nerve signals to the organs are strengthened.

Microcurrent can also be used to enhance massage work by reducing muscle tension and reinforcing nerve signals. Learn more about research regarding Dolphin Microcurrent Point Stimulation here:

Advances in our understanding of the role of the brain in our posture, movement, & pain provides additional avenues to improve results. I incorporate Neural Reset Therapy, as well as vision & vestibular elements to improve balance between muscles, range of motion, & strength.

I look forward working with you to find the best path to vibrant health!
